The over/under for Tennessee Titans’ wins in 2011 is 6.5

The Titans were 6-10 last year, so they made a lot of changes.  They look like they will be improved a little bit in 2011.  I think every team in the AFC South has gotten a little more jump in their step after the Colts’ loss of Peyton Manning for a while.  The Jaguars sudden release of David Garrard had to send shockwaves through their team.  All of a sudden, the AFC South is wide open, so the Titans can now see light at the end of the tunnel.  I would make a small bet on the over for the Titans in regards to wins in 2011.

The over/under for Tennessee Titans wins in 2010 is 8.5

The Titans were 0-6 to start the 2009 season before changing QBs.  When the Titans switched starting QBs and went with Vince Young they finished a very strong 8-2 on the year.  I have to think that Jeff Fisher will be able to coax at least 9 wins out of the Titans this season with Vince Young under center from the get go.  I would make a small bet on the over with the Titans in 2010.  The Titans stand at 35-1 to win the Super Bowl.  While I think the Titans are going to be solid, I still am not going to place any cash on them to win the Super Bowl.

The over/under for Tennessee Titans wins this season is 9

While it’s true that the Titans came out of nowhere last season they still have a really good football team.  With only about 4.5 hours to make a bet either way on this you might want to consider a few things.  A lot of prognosticators are picking the Texans to have a huge season, but I think they have been standing in the sun too long as their is no way Matt Schaub will be standing all season.  The Colts still have Peyton Manning but none of his main coaches are around for this season so expect a small falloff this season.  That means the Titans should have another big season despite not having Albert Haynesworth around.  I would take the over with the Titans.

The over/under for Tennessee Titans wins in 2008 is 8

I just don’t think that the Titans have what it takes to repeat their success of last season.  I think the Titans have the look of a 6 or 7 win team in 2008 so I have to suggest betting the under.  Still, I like Coach Fisher and I wouldn’t be surprised if he waves his magic wand and makes me look bad with this prediction.

The Tennessee Titans trade CB/KR Adam “Pac Man” Jones to the Cowboys

This trade is a classic case of addition by subtraction.  No one disputes that Pac Man Jones is a game altering talent but he just wasn’t worth the hassle in the long run.  The Titans will receive a 4th round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft for Jones.  They will get an additional pick in 2009 if Jones is reinstated and plays this season for the Cowboys.  If Jones stays suspended in 2008 the Titans will fork over a 2009 4th round pick to the Cowboys.  Jones has played in 30 games (28 starts) in his NFL career and he has made 115 tackles, has 1 sack, has defensed 18 passes and he has intercepted 4 passes including one that he returned for a TD.  Jones has also returned 63 kickoffs for 1,648 yards (26.2 avg) and 63 punts for 712 yards (11.3 avg) with 4 TD returns on punts.  Even if Jones is reinstated and plays well the Titans won’t miss him because of all of the off field garbage that they have had to put up with from him.

The over/under for wins for the Tennessee Titans is 7 for 2007

The Titans got better quick last season behind QB Vince Young. Don’t expect miracles this season as the Titans did nothing to help the offense in the off-season. They also let RB Travis Henry leave to Denver as a free agent. The Titans defense also doesn’t look too great for 2007. So, I’m betting the under.
