The Tennessee Titans have waived injured Chris Davis

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,The Disabled LIst by admin on Saturday 29 August 2009 at 10:53 am

The Titans have waived the injured 25-year old WR/PR/KR Chris Davis.  Davis played in 5 games (0 starts) for the Titans last season and he caught 2 passes for 31 yards (15.5 avg).  He also returned 2 punts for 6 yards (3.0 avg) and 4 kickoffs for 119 yards (29.8 avg).  In two seasons with the Titans, Davis played in 17 games (0 starts) in which he caught 7 passes for 69 yards (9.9 avg) and he carried the ball 2 times for 19 yards (9.5 ypc).  He also returned 33 punts for 299 yards (9.1 avg) and 6 kickoffs for 156 yards (26.0 avg) for the Titans.  Some team might give Davis a look when he gets healthy.

The Tennessee Titans lose Vince Young

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,The Disabled LIst by admin on Wednesday 10 September 2008 at 5:14 pm

The Titans have lost starting QB Vince Young for the next 2-4 weeks due to a sprained MCL.  He completed 12 of 22 passes (54.5%) for 110 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 interceptions (45.6 QB Rating) against the Jaguars last Sunday.  He also carried the ball 1 time for 4 yards.  With many questioning whether or not Young even wants to play football the Titans might let Kerry Collins keep the starting job even after Young is healthy if he plays well.  Collins completed his only two pass attempts for the Titans last Sunday covering 65 yards.  In three years with the Titans, Collins has played in 11 games (4 starts) and he has completed 94 of 174 passes (54%) for 1,145 yards with 1 TD pass and 6 interceptions.  Collins is a better pure pocket passer than Young so he might go down field to the WRs more which should open up the running game more.  I think he will do a good job for them.  After all, Vince Young is like a starting pitcher on a baseball team that scores 7 runs a game and that’s why he wins so much as he is not a good QB.

The Tennessee Titans lose safety Chris Hope for the remainder of the season

The Titans have lost starting safety Chris Hope for the remainder of the season due to a spinal chord injury.  Hope played in 11 games for the Titans this season and he made 49 tackles, had 2 interceptions and defensed 3 passes.  Hope will be replaced in the starting lineup by Calvin Lowry.  Lowry played in 12 games last season and he made 39 tackles, had a interception and defensed 7 passes.

The Tennessee Titans lose Brandon Jones for a couple weeks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,The Disabled LIst by squarebettor on Wednesday 17 October 2007 at 5:52 pm

The Titans will be without WR Brandon Jones for the next two or three weeks after he underwent knee surgery. Jones has played pretty well this season for the Titans. He has caught 13 passes for 172 yards (13.2 avg) with 1 TD grab and he also has carried the ball 1 time for 19 yards. Look for Roydell Williams and Eric Moulds to get more looks in the passing game until Jones is healthy enough to return.

The Tennessee Titans lose rookie DE Jacob Ford for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Draft Report,Front Page,General,The Disabled LIst by squarebettor on Tuesday 14 August 2007 at 1:59 pm

The Titans have lost rookie Jacob Ford for the season after he tore his ACL in practice yesterday. This is a blow to both Ford and the Titans as they were going to give him an opportunity to contribute on defense because they need all the help that they can get on that side of the football.

The Tennessee Titans lose rookie defensive tackle Antonio Johnson for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Draft Report,Front Page,The Disabled LIst by squarebettor on Saturday 4 August 2007 at 4:36 pm

The Titans have lost Antonio Johnson for the season as he will need major knee surgery. This is a shame because the Titans needed help on the D-Line and Johnson was going to get a chance at some playing time as a rookie.

David Givens unlikely to be ready for the 2007 season for the Tennessee Titans

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,The Disabled LIst by squarebettor on Friday 11 May 2007 at 2:45 pm

David Givens had additional knee surgery six weeks ago and he is now doubtful to be ready for week #1 of the regular season. This has got to be a huge disappointment to the Titans front office that paid Givens a lot of money last season in free agency to be their #1 WR. Givens only played in 5 games in his rookie season last year and he only caught 8 passes for 104 yards (13.0 avg) with 0 TDs. He also carried the football 1 time for 3 yards.

David Givens might not be ready for 2007 season opener

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,The Disabled LIst by leoquijano on Wednesday 21 February 2007 at 6:22 pm

David Givens is still having problems in his recovery from injury and might not be ready for the first game of 2007 and that is a shame. In 2004-2005, Givens averaged 57.5 catches and 806 yards per season and that’s the player the Titans paid the big bucks for. What they got for their money was 5 games, 8 receptions and 104 yards. Look for the Titans to try to bring in a few receivers to give someone Vince Young someone to throw to.Â

The Titans also cut guard Zach Piller.

Travis Henry could miss this weeks game

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,The Disabled LIst by leoquijano on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 3:38 pm

Travis Henry had to leave last week’s game after he injured his ankle and he might not be able to play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Chris Brown could get the start, as he played well after replacing Henry last week against the Texans.

Tennessee Titans lose WR for the season

David Givens will miss the remainder of the football season with a torn ACL. Givens has been a free-agent bust for the Titans as he only caught 8 passes this season. Brandon Jones will take over in the starting line-up for Givens.
