The Titans have signed 27-year old RB Samkon Gado.  Gado played in 15 games (0 starts) for the Rams last season and he carried the ball 14 times for 26 yards (1.9 ypc).  He also caught 3 passes for 25 yards (8.3 avg) last year.  Gado has now played in 41 games (8 starts) in his five years in the NFL and he has carried the ball 268 times for 972 yards (3.6 ypc) with 11 TD runs.  He has also caught 43 passes for 292 yards (6.8 avg) with 1 TD grab in his NFL career.  This was a good depth signing for the Titans.

The Tennessee Titans sign Raheem Brock

The Titans have signed 32-year old DE/DT Raheem Brock.  Brock played in 16 games for the Colts last season and he had 32 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 3.5 sacks.  He has now played in 120 games in his 8 years in the NFL and he has 288 tackles, 16 passes defensed, 28.5 sacks and 11 forced fumbles.  The Titans plan to only use Brock at DE due to his lack of size to play inside.  I really like this signing for the Titans as Brock is a decent player.

The Tennessee Titans sign Chris Simms

The Titans have signed 29-year old QB Chris Simms to a 1-year deal.  Hopefully this doesn’t mean that the Titans are going to cut Kerry Collins and go with Simms behind Vince Young because that would be a HUGE MISTAKE!  Simms played in 3 games for the Broncos last season and he completed 5 of 17 passes (29.4%) for 23 yards with 0 TD passes and 1 INT (29.4 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 3 times for -4 yards (-1.3 ypc) last year for the Broncos.  He has now played in 23 games in his NFL career and he has completed 297 of 511 passes (58.1%) for 3,117 yards with 12 TD passes and 18 INTs (69.1 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 33 times for 48 yards (1.5 ypc) with 1 TD run.  I don’t like this signing for the Titans as they would have been better off drafting a QB than signing a proven stiff like Chris Simms.

The Tennessee Titans sign Tye Hill

The Titans have signed 27-year old cornerback Tye Hill to a 1-year deal.  Hill played in 9 games for the Falcons last season and he made 7 tackles, defensed 1 pass and he had 1 interception (he returned it 62 yards for a TD).  Hill has now played in 37 games in his NFL career and he has 112 tackles, defensed 17 passes, he forced 1 fumble and he intercepted 5 passes (1 returned for a TD).  Hill will help out the depth in the secondary and he will likely help out on special teams for the Titans in 2010.

The Tennessee Titans sign DE Jason Babin to a offer sheet

Blogged under General, Free Agent Additions, Bloglockers, Breaking News, Front Page by admin on Thursday 18 March 2010 at 9:45 am

The Titans have signed 29-year old DE Jason Babin to a 1-year, $1 million dollar offer sheet.  The Eagles will have 7 days to match his offer.  Babin played in 12 games for the Eagles last season in which he made 16 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and he had 2.5 sacks.  Babin has played in 64 games in his NFL career in which he has made 172 tackles, defensed 7 passes, he forced 2 fumbles and he has 17.5 sacks.  I don’t think the Eagles will match the offer the Titans made for Babin.

UPDATE:  The Eagles have declined to match Babin’s offer sheet making him a Tennessee Titan for 2010.
