Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Sunday 4 September 2011 at 7:11 pm

The Titans have released 29-year old safety Vincent Fuller.  Fuller played in 12 games for the Titans last year and he had 33 tackles, 1 interception, 2 passes defensed and 1 tackle for a loss.  Fuller played in 73 games in his five years with the Titans and he had 163 tackles, 7 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 16 passes defensed and 6 interceptions (he returned 4 of them for TDs).  The Titans are going in a different direction at safety, but Fuller shouldn’t be out of work too long.

The Tennessee Titans release LB Rennie Curran

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Sunday 4 September 2011 at 2:26 am

The Titans have released 22-year old linebacker Rennie Curran.  Curran was a 3rd round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Titans who have quickly soured on him.  He played in 9 games as a rookie for the Titans last year and he had a whopping 7 tackles.  Curran better shape up with his next team or he will have to start looking for a real job.  This is no loss whatsoever for the Titans.

The Tennessee Titans waive PR/KR Yamon Figurs

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Sunday 4 September 2011 at 2:23 am

The Titans have waived 29-year old WR/return man Yamon Figurs.  Figurs has played in 31 games in his first four years in the NFL and he has caught 5 passes for 103 yards (20.6 avg) with 1 TD catch.  He has also returned 42 punts for 340 yards (8.1 avg) and 85 kickoffs for 1,956 yards (23.0 avg) with 1 TD return.  The Titans have young return men that they like better than Figurs, so his release comes as little surprise.

The Tennessee Titans lose DE Derrick Morgan

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,The Disabled LIst by admin on Wednesday 31 August 2011 at 11:20 pm

The Titans have lost 22-year old DE Derrick Morgan indefinitely as he has underwent surgery on his left ankle.  He played in 4 games for the Titans last year and he had 5 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 pass defensed.  This is bad news for the Titans as they had high hopes for Morgan in 2011.  He was a first round pick of the Titans’ in 2010.

The Tennessee Titans release DT Jovan Haye

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Monday 29 August 2011 at 6:04 pm

The Titans have released 29-year old DT Jovan Haye.  Haye played in 14 games for the Titans last year and he had 31 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 pass defensed.  He played in 29 games in his two years with the Titans and he had 63 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1/2 a sack and 1 pass defensed.  The Titans should be able to cover for Haye pretty easily as he didn’t make many big plays the last couple of years.

The Tennessee Titans sign Kevin Curtis

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Saturday 27 August 2011 at 12:24 pm

The Titans have signed 33-year old WR Kevin Curtis.  Curtis played in 2 games (0 starts) for the Dolphins last year and he caught 1 pass for 6 yards.  He has now played in 81 games (36 starts) in his first 8 years in the NFL and he has caught 253 passes for 3,297 yards (13.0 avg) with 20 TD grabs.  Curtis has also carried the ball 9 times for 39 yards (4.3 ypc) with 1 TD run so far in his NFL career.  This was a good move for the Titans.

UPDATE:  (9/3/2011) – The Titans have waived Kevin Curtis who recently broke a bone in his hand.

The Tennessee Titans sign OT Adam Terry

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,General by admin on Tuesday 16 August 2011 at 2:49 pm

The Titans have signed 28-year old OT Adam Terry.  Terry played in 2 games (0 starts) for the Jaguars and Chargers last season.  He has now played in 50 games (18 starts) in his first five years in the NFL.  Terry will provide the Titans nice depth on the offensive line because he’s capable of playing either tackle or guard.  This was a nice signing for the Titans.

UPDATE:  (9/4/2011) – The Titans have released Adam Terry.

The Tennessee Titans sign safety Anthony Smith

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Tuesday 9 August 2011 at 9:11 pm

The Titans have signed 27-year old safety Anthony Smith.  Smith played in 7 games for the Jaguars last year and he had 22 tackles, 1 interception and 1 pass defensed.  He has now played in 63 games in his first five years in the NFL and he has 165 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 16 passes defensed and 7 interceptions.  The Titans hope that Smith’s game catches up to his trash talking, because if that happens the Titans will have a Pro Bowl safety on their hands.

The Tennessee Titans sign G/T Pat McQuistan

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Monday 8 August 2011 at 7:19 pm

The Tennesse Titans have signed 28-year old G/T Pat McQuistan.  McQuistan played in 16 games (8 starts) for the Dolphins last year.  He has now played in 56 games (8 starts) in his first five years in the NFL.  McQuistan’s versatility will likely help the Titans’ O-Line in 2011.  I like this move for the Titans.

UPDATE:  (9/3/2011) – The Titans have waived Pat McQuistan.

The Titans have signed 28-year old safety Jordan Babineaux to a 1-year deal.  Babineaux played in all 16 games for the Seahawks last year and he had 46 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 interceptions and 8 passes defensed.  He has now played in 99 games in his first seven years in the NFL and he has 411 tackles, 9 tackles for a loss, 4 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, 32 passes defensed and 10 interceptions (one returned for a TD).  Babineaux will give the Titans solid veteran depth at safety and he will likely also help out on special teams in 2011.
