The Titans have signed 27-year old RB Samkon Gado.  Gado played in 15 games (0 starts) for the Rams last season and he carried the ball 14 times for 26 yards (1.9 ypc).  He also caught 3 passes for 25 yards (8.3 avg) last year.  Gado has now played in 41 games (8 starts) in his five years in the NFL and he has carried the ball 268 times for 972 yards (3.6 ypc) with 11 TD runs.  He has also caught 43 passes for 292 yards (6.8 avg) with 1 TD grab in his NFL career.  This was a good depth signing for the Titans.

The Tennessee Titans lose rookie RB Stafon Johnson for a while

Things were looking good for Stafon Johnson early after he got into the game for the Titans in the pre-season opener.  He carried the ball 3 times for 23 yards (7.7 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 12 yards (6.0 avg).  But he then dislocated his right ankle and broke his right fibula on a play.  His old USC coach Pete Carroll was by his side at the cart for a while before he was driven to the paramedics.  He had surgery and is likely to miss the next 8-12 weeks.  This is a shame for Johnson who fought his way back from a serious throat injury last season when he was benching and the bar came down across his neck which almost killed him.  Hopefully he’ll get well soon and get back on the field at some point in 2010.

The Tennessee Titans sign Raheem Brock

The Titans have signed 32-year old DE/DT Raheem Brock.  Brock played in 16 games for the Colts last season and he had 32 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 3.5 sacks.  He has now played in 120 games in his 8 years in the NFL and he has 288 tackles, 16 passes defensed, 28.5 sacks and 11 forced fumbles.  The Titans plan to only use Brock at DE due to his lack of size to play inside.  I really like this signing for the Titans as Brock is a decent player.

The NFL suspends 2nd year linebacker Gerald McRath of the Tennessee Titans

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Breaking News, Front Page by admin on Monday 14 June 2010 at 1:33 pm

The NFL has suspended 23-year old linebacker Gerald McRath for the first four games of the 2010 season due to him testing positive for performance enhancing drugs.  McRath played in all 16 games for the Titans as a rookie last season and he finished up with 47 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception.  McRath was practicing with the first team this summer at outside linebacker for the Titans.  Rookie Rennie Curran will battle veterans Stanford Keglar and David Thornton for P.T. at outside linebacker until McRath returns to action.

The Tennessee Titans trade LenDale White to the Seahawks

The Titans traded 25-year old RB LenDale White and 27-year old DT Kevin Vickerson to the Seahawks for the right to move way up in both of those rounds.  White played in 13 games for the Titans last season in which he carried the ball 64 times for 222 yards (3.5 ypc) with 2 TD carries and he also caught 3 passes for 14 yards (4.7 avg).  White played in 58 games in his four years with the Titans and he carried the ball 628 times for 2,349 yards (3.7 ypc) with 24 TD runs.  He also caught 42 passes for 204 yards (4.9 avg) in his time with the Titans.  The Titans essentially did White a favor as he will have a much bigger role with the Seahawks than he would have had with them.  Vickerson played in 13 games for the Titans last season making 28 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and he defensed 3 passes.  In three years with the Titans, Vickerson played in 24 games in which he had 45 tackles, defensed 4 passes and he had 1.5 sacks.  The Titans sold both White and Vickerson for pennies on a dollar.
