Tennessee Titans 30, Jacksonville Jaguars 13
The Tennessee Titans finally got their first win of the year, as they topped the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The Titans offense looked much better with Vince Young under center. Young made his first start of the year and did a good job controlling the game and not turning the ball over. He went an accurate 15/18 for 125 yards and a touchdown. Chris Johnson was the one who won this game for the Titans though. The running back went for a whopping 228 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries, including a 52-yard touchdown run and an 89-yard touchdown run.
The Titans defense did a good job defending the passing game, giving up only 139 yards through the air. They also got two interceptions off Jaguars’ quarterback David Garrard and did not give up any touchdowns to him. They failed miserably at stopping Maurice Jones Drew, and thankfully for the Titans sake the Jaguars’ did not give Jones-Drew the ball very often. Jones-Drew rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries. The Titans obviously gave up some huge plays to Jones-Drew, but they did enough to hold the Jags to only 13 points. This was a big win for the Titans and it looks like they probably should have went to Vince Young earlier in the season.
