With the signing of Kerry Collins earlier today one has to wonder if Vince Young has much of a future left with the Titans.  He played in 3 games (1 start) last season for the Titans and he completed 22 of 36 passes (61.1%) for 219 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 interceptions (64.5 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 8 times for 27 yards (3.4 ypc) last season.  Young has now played in 33 games (29 starts) in his NFL career and he has completed 444 of 775 passes (57.3%) for 4,964 yards with 22 TD passes and 32 interceptions (68.8 QB Rating).  He has also carried the football 184 times for 974 yards (5.3 ypc) with 10 TD runs.  Young has a lot of physical talent but he will need to mature before the Titans should give him another chance in the future.

The Tennessee Titans bring back Kerry Collins

The Titans have re-signed 36-year old QB Kerry Collins to a 2-year, $15 million dollar contract.  Collins deserved the new deal based on how he played after replacing an injured Vince Young and leading the team to a division championship last season.  Collins played in all 16 games (15 starts) last season and he completed 242 of 415 (58.3%) passes for 2,676 yards with 12 TD passes and 7 interceptions (80.2 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 25 times for 49 yards (2.0 ypc) last season.  Many experts thought that Collins was pretty much finished before his resurrection last season and it was smart for the Titans to reward Collins.  Collins has now played in 178 games (164 starts) in his NFL career and he has completed 3,160 of 5,669 passes (55.7%) for 37,393 yards with 186 TD passes and 179 interceptions (73.8 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 351 times for 671 yards (1.9 ypc) with 9 TD runs.
