The Tennessee Titans release three players
The Titans have released 3 players. QB Tim Rattay didn’t make it despite playing well in the pre-season. Rattay completed 24 of 40 passes (60%) for 262 yards with 0 TDs and 0 INTs (79.4 QB Rating). The Titans felt that with the way Kerry Collins played in the pre-season that they didn’t need to carry a #3 QB. Collins completed 26 of 40 passes (65%) for 268 yards with 3 TDs and 0 INTs (109.2 QB Rating). WR Courtney Roby also didn’t make the cut despite catching 6 passes for 65 yards (10.8 avg) this pre-season. Safety Lamont Thompson was also cut despite being a starter last season for the Titans. Thompson played in all 16 games last season for the Titans and he made 73 tackles, defensed 5 passes and had 3 interceptions. Thompson will be replaced by 2nd year safety Calvin Lowry. Lowry played in all 16 games last season and he made 11 tackles and defensed a pass.
