The Tennessee Titans will likely throw more to their TEs in 2007
The Tennessee Titans have always like to throw to their tight ends but they swayed away from that last season. Look for this year to be different. Bo Scaife has risen to the top of the Titans’ depth chart as he took full advantage of Ben Troupe’s injury problems. He played in 14 games (12 starts) last season and he caught 29 passes for 370 yards (12.8 avg) with 2 TD grabs. If the Titans are smart they will throw to Scaife often because they have huge question marks at the WR position this season. Scaife has now played in 30 games (17 starts) and he has caught 66 passes for 643 yards (9.7 avg) with 4 TD grabs.
Ben Troupe has been overrated his whole career and last season he was banged up. He played in 10 games (9 starts) last season and he only caught 13 passes for 150 yards (11.5 avg) with 2 TD grabs. Troupe will likely rebound somewhat but the Titans need him healthy and focused for the 2007 season. He has now played in 39 games (27 starts) and he has caught 101 passes for 1,009 yards (10.0 avg) with 7 TD grabs.
Ben Hartsock is third in line at TE. He is a better run blocker than receiver but he likely will get some quality playing time. He played in 6 games (3 starts) last season and he caught 6 passes for 68 yards (11.3 avg). Look for him to catch slightly more passes this season. He has now played in 29 games (6 starts) in his career and he has caught 12 passes for 109 yards (9.1 avg) with 0 TDs.
