Adam “Pac Man” Jones suspended for the whole 2007 NFL season
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell lowered the boom on Pac Man Jones and suspended him for the entire 2007 season without pay. The NFL proved that it is serious about cleaning up the NFL’s image off of the field by trying to stop players from acting like fools on their off-time. The Players’ Union will no doubt try to get this ruling overturned, but they really have no chance because players have an off-field conduct policy written in all of their contracts.Â
The Titans might have to consider drafting a kick returner and a cornerback in the draft to replace Jones on the field. He played in 15 games last season for the Titans and he made 62 tackles, had a sack, intercepted 4 passes and returned them 130 yards including one for a TD, forced a fumble and recovered 2 fumbles. Jones returned 20 kickoffs for 521 yards (26.1 avg) and 34 punts for 440 yards (12.9 avg) with 3 TDs. He even played a little bit of offense as he carried the football 2 times for 8 yards and he caught 2 passes for 31 yards. Simply stated, Pac Man will be hard to replace on the field of play.
The hard part for “Pac Man” Jones is that he will have to behave in his year away from football and stay in shape without supervision from the Titans. Will he succeed? Only time will tell.

Screw Goodell. 100% political move. Pacman has been involved in way too many brushes with the law, agreed. However, we live in the U.S. and A. – and one must keep in mind that Pacman has yet to be convicted in any of the aforementioned brushes.
Bulter, I agree with you that you’re innocent until proven guilty but Jones does need to behave. Heck, the Titans are so upset with him that they considered releasing him because of how out of control Jones is off the field.
