The Titans have just played their best two games of the season in the last two weeks and probably would prefer to keep playing. The Titans are only averaging 14.2 points per game and need to get a little better if they want to win some more games this season. The Titans are running the ball great this season as they are averaging 114.8 yards rushing per game and 4.2 yards per carry. The passing game is still a work in progress as they are averaging 170.5 net yards passing per game and only complete 47.1% of their passes.

The Titans defense needs major work! The Titans allow 26.2 points per game and 363.2 yards per game. They have huge problems stopping the run, allowing 164.5 yards rushing per game and 4.7 yards per carry. The Titans are allowing an incredibly terrible 65.3% of their passes to be completed. The Titans are allowing 198.7 yards passing per game.

Second year WR Roydell Williams may need surgery for a finger he broke in the game against the Redskins last Sunday.

Titans veterans leading the defense

Linebacker Keith Bulluck is the leader of the defense. Bulluck already has 55 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. The Titans spent well in signing LB David Thornton and FS Chris Hope as free-agents. Hope has 51 tackles, 2 interceptions and has recovered a fumble so far. Thornton has 45 tackles so far this season.

Titans outplay the Redskins and win 25-22

The Titans out-played the Redskins in every facet of the game. The Titans even got a safety on a blocked punt. Vince Young just managed the game and he did a good job. Young completed 13 of 25 passes for 161 yards and a TD. RB Travis Henry was the main man today. Henry carried the ball 32 times for 178 yards (5.6 ypc) and a TD. Drew Bennett caught 3 passes for 60 yards. Brandon Jones added 3 catches for 34 yards and a TD.

The Titans defense just played well enough to win. The Redskins carried the ball 26 times for 125 yards (4.8 ypc). The Redskins completed 16 of 30 passes for 180 net yards passing.Â

This was a sweet win for the Titans against a decent team on the road. It gives the Titans something to build on.

LenDale White could miss game for Titans

LenDale White hasn’t practiced all week and has a bad case of the flu. Look for Travis Henry to start and Chris Brown to get the carries that White got last week. We’ll see if Chris Brown is motivated to back into the running back rotation.
