The Titans played very sloppy on offense and it killed them in the end. Kerry Collins completed 17 of 38 passes (44.7%) for 223 yards and 2 pick-offs. Vince Young got his first taste of the NFL, completing 3 of 4 passes for 27 yards and a interception. Chris Brown carried the ball 16 times for 64 yards (4.0 ypc). Travis Henry carried the ball 9 times for 22 yards (2.4 ypc) and 2 TDs. WR Drew Bennett played a good game, catching 8 passes for 106 yards (13.3 avg). Bobby Wade caught 5 passes for 76 yards (15.2 avg).

LB Keith Bulluck was all over the field and had 13 tackles. S Chris Hope also had a good game with 9 tackles. The Titans were tough against the run allowing the Jets to get 91 yards rushing, but only averaging 2.7 yards per carry. The Jets carved up the Titans secondary to the tune of 72.7% completions for 302 net yards passing.

The Titans have alot of work to do if they want to win more games than last season.

I don’t think they want to throw Vince Young to the wolves yet, but it’s looking like it might not be long. Watching Collins run the 2-minute offense was kind of surreal, although the effort was there and he was one play away from pulling it off.

Still, for a young quarterback to be successful, there needs to be a solid running game and good line play. Also, it’s important not to be playing from behind all the time (defense needs to keep them in the game). The time is nearing for Vince Young to take over. A couple more losses and the time will be here.

Next week it’s the Chargers and they’re playing really good ball right now. No matter who plays quarterback, Tennessee must be able to execute plays correctly. Some of the sloppiness last week may have been because Collins hasn’t played with the other players long enough and the

I agree with you. Billy Volek is a better QB right now than Kerry Collins is. They should trade Volek if they’re gonna make him the #3 QB and at least get a pick for him.
