The Titans need one of their running backs to step up and seize the starting job. All three have the talent to start, but they are all head cases too. Chris Brown, when he isn’t demanding to be traded, has run well in the pre-season. Brown has carried the ball 15 times for 67 yards (4.5 ypc). Brown’s upright running style has left him open to injury in the past, so the depth at running back is good to have. Brown is the leader in the competition for right now.
Travis Henry is a tough running back that likes to run between the tackles. Henry, a former 1,000 yard rusher for the Bills, has only rushed for 35 yards on 14 carries (2.5 ypc) with a TD in the pre-season. Henry is the back that is most likely to drop on the depth chart.
Rookie LenDale White has alot going for him when he’s not spitting on a teammate. He is a TD maker in the Jerome Bettis mold. White is a strong runner that makes his living between the tackles. White also has played for offensive co-ordinator Norm Chow at USC, so he knows the system. White has only carried the ball 7 times for 28 yards in the pre-season. White will eventually be the starting running back in Tennessee, but maybe not this year.
