Vince or Volek?

My gut tells me that it will be Billy Volek that starts the season as the #1 QB. Volek has been waiting for McNair to leave or quit, and when he finally does here comes Vince Young to town. Volek will probably just keep the seat warm until Young is ready to go, so there’s no need to rush Young. Volek has played in 24 games (10 starts) and has completed 60.3% of his passes for 3,505 yards with 26 TD passes and 13 interceptions for a career QB rating of 86.9. Volek should put up good numbers and he might make Vince wait a year if he performs well.

Vince Young has only one elite season under his belt, but boy was it a special one. Young has the arm strength and the scrambling ability to be a very good NFL starting QB, but to do it this season is a reach. Young operated out of a shotgun offense which no team uses in the NFL, so it might take him a little time to get used to playing under the center again. Young played 35 games at Texas (32 starts) and completed 61.8% of his passes for 6,040 yards with 44 TD passes and 28 interceptions. It will be interesting to see how Young develops in the NFL.

Matt Mauck will be the #3 QB of the Titans. He has only played in two games (one start) and completed 55.6% of his passes for 136 yards with no touchdown passes and one interception for a QB rating of 53.9.
